Introduction Biography for Tom Foley

Tom Foley served as Ambassador to Ireland from October 2006 to January 2009. In August 2003, Mr. Foley was asked to serve his country as the Director of Private Sector Development for the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq. He served for 7 months overseeing most of the state-owned businesses and working to re-establish the private sector. Mr. Foley spent his career in the business world working for McKinsey and Citicorp Venture Capital before founding his own company, NTC Group, in 1985. He has over twenty five years of senior management and private equity investing experience, and has a B.A. in Economics from Harvard and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.  In December, Tom Foley announced his candidacy for Governor of Connecticut in 2010. 

Mr. Foley’s wife, Leslie, is an attorney and his nineteen year old son is a sophomore in college.
